WORKSHOP 1 - The Origin is the Embrace (Skills: Connection, Emotional Intelligence, Embrace, Connection Points, Tension Release, Adaptation) A return to the heart of tango: the embrace as the first and truest technique. Explore how comfort, trust, and attunement shape everything that follows. We work with adaptability, shared connection points, micro-listening, and the emotional intelligence of holding another person. This class restores what social tango has always been, a conversation that begins with the way we connect and adapt, not the shapes we create.
WORKSHOP 2- Essential Technique: The Core Elements of Walking (Skills: Body Mechanics, Preparations, Vector, Phrasing, Connection Points, Timing, Comfort, Teamwork) Refine the fundamentals that make everything else possible. A technical deep dive into the core mechanics of the most fundamental movement in social tango: the walk. We explore stability, axis, impulse, cadence, and grounding. We’ll look at how walking can be so enjoyable. Learn how to create effortless flow, clean transitions, and adaptable techniques that support comfort in the embrace and clarity in improvisation. This is technique stripped back to its essence, refined for today’s milonga.
WORKSHOP 3 - Timeless Tools: Sequences that Transcend Style (Skills: Practical Vocabulary, Repertoire, Adaptability, Foundational Movement, Floor Navigation, Social Considerations, Assessment, Timing) Learn universal combinations that have endured for decades because they simply work. These sequences transcend stylistic preferences, regional variations, and individual aesthetics because they are adaptable, musical, can be compact, and are endlessly useful on any dance floor around the world. This workshop reconnects dancers to the practicality, elegance, and global legacy of tango’s timeless repertoire.
WORKSHOP 4 - Musical Improvisation for the Milonga (Skills: Timing, Musical lens, Embodiment, Improvisation, Communication, Preparations, Dynamics, Adaptability) Rediscover tango as conversation and co-creation. This class focuses on real-time improvisation through musical lens on repertoire, including quality, phrasing, pauses, intention, and communication/response. Learn how to interpret the orchestra with your partner -not by memorizing sequences- but by listening, responding, and shaping the dance together. Make it fun and functional! This is music as technique, and musicality as the engine of authentic social tango.
WORKSHOP 5 - Navigating the Social Floor: Awareness, Cadence & Care (Skills: Timing, Effective use of pauses, Speed and Space, Embrace as Communication Tool, Using Music, Body Awareness) Tango doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in shared space. Social tango is as much about awareness as it is about movement. This workshop focuses on navigating the social floor with clarity, respect, and musical intelligence. We explore spatial awareness, floor craft, phrasing choices, and how to adapt movement quality to crowded or open environments without sacrificing connection or expression. Learn how to dance with the room rather than against it, making choices that support safety, flow, and the collective experience of the milonga.
WORKSHOP 6 - Shared Responsibility: Leading, Following & Co-Creation (Understanding Weight Distribution, Standing/Free Leg, Communication, Embrace, Energy Exchange, Dynamics, Impulse & Torsion, Adaptation) At its heart, tango is a shared responsibility and a dynamic exchange rather than a one-directional act. Explore how clarity, responsiveness, and agency exist on both sides of the embrace. We’ll look at how body preparation, and communicated intention is offered and received through impulse and dynamics, supported by balance and timing. We’ll examine how co-creation within the sequence leads to more musical, satisfying dances. This class invites dancers to move beyond roles into deeper partnership and mutual listening.
$35 for each class - $180 for all 6 classes -
$120 for individual private lessons with Jennifer or Martin
$140 for private lessons as a couple

Martin and I are thrilled to unite our expertise from the classroom and the stage to focus on what has always been at the heart of Argentine Tango. While styles and cultures may change and evolve, the essence remains the same, tango is, at its heart, a social dance. For that reason, our tour's focus is on Tango de Pista for the social floor. We celebrate tango in its purest form: the walk, the embrace, and the music. We will teach practical skills in improvisation, musicality, and connection that are immediately transferable to the milonga. Our commitment is that the tango shows we deliver should also reflect our teaching and values, with high focus on connection and improvisation. We believe the true magic of tango lies in accessible, high-quality social dancing, and our goal is to ensure every attendee leaves with tangible, relatable skills and experiences for their social dance.
